Education institutions shut down in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU, JUNE 19 - The All Nepal Teachers´ Organisation and the All Nepal National Independent Students´ Union-Revolutionary have shut down all the educational institutions in Lalitpur on Wednesday.
They went on strike after the declination of administration over the complaint filed by Mukesh Mishra, a teacher of DAV school , Lalitpur, who was thrashed by the teachers of the same school. They have even demanded for the previous post and responsibility of the victimized teacher.
The two organisations closed all the district-based educational institutions saying action was not taken against Vice-principal Ram Chandra Khanal and Prashant Tamang even after complaint was filed at the District Police Office. Mishra was deprived from taking the classes although he was reinstated under the pressure of teachers´ organisation.
Mishra complained that they thrashed him while they were talking on the issue of salary, which was not given for long, and are still misbehaving and giving him mental torture over the complaint filed at the Police Office.
Since, there is a mutual consent that educational institutions be declared peace zone but such activities have made the ideals of education remorseful. A total of 1,283 schools in the district have been affected by the strike in educational institutions.
